Zachary Reed is a musician, audio engineer and recent graduate of the School of Music, Theatre and Dance at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Originally from San Dimas, California, Zach has found a new creative home-base in the Detroit. Primarily a saxophonist and woodwind multi-instrumentalist, Zach also composes and performs much of his original music on the guitar in pop, rock, and jazz idioms.
While in California, Zach has performed in numerous wind ensembles, brass bands, and jazz combos across the state. He has continued this trend during his time at the University of Michigan, performing at iconic venues such as The Blind Pig, Zal Gaz Grotto Club and Canterbury House in Ann Arbor, as well as Aretha’s Jazz Cafe in Detroit.
Off-stage, Zach is also passionate (obsessive) about audio engineering, music production, and electronics. In his senior year at Michigan, Zach worked as an AV/media operator for live events held at the Ford School of Public Policy. He currently works as an audiovisual & electronics technician at Macomb Community College in Warren, MI; As he continues to gain professional experience, Zach plans to pursue a graduate degree in audio engineering in the near future.
Moving forward, Zachary is deeply interested in working in live music performance settings and teaming up with audio professionals to achieve great sounding projects live and on record.
